They will help remove barriers that have challenged my path and allow me to continue my education with confidence, working toward a career where I can make a positive impact in my community.”

“I worked a part-time job throughout high school and every summer to save up and set aside money for tuition payments and any other school expenses. When I started the school year, my intention was to keep this job and work one or two shifts a week, but unfortunately due to a last-minute school schedule change that was out of my control, I was forced to quit my job because it conflicted with many of my classes. The money from the scholarship will relieve a significant amount of financial stress I was facing regarding tuition payments and other school expenses.”

This support not only helps ease the financial challenges of pursuing post-secondary education away from home, but also allows me to focus on achieving my goal of becoming a professional engineer and contributing to Alberta’s energy sector. As a woman in applied science, engineering, and technology, this recognition encourages me to continue working hard and to one day support and mentor others pursuing similar paths.”

I am currently pursuing a diploma in Animal Science at Lakeland College, majoring in beef production. I chose this field because of my passion for animals and agriculture, and my desire to contribute to the advancement of sustainable farming practices in agriculture. 
 
This scholarship will play a role in helping me continue my education, allowing me to fully dedicate myself to my studies and hands-on learning experiences.
Looking ahead, I hope to build a career in the agricultural industry. I grew up on a grain farm south of Edmonton and I hope that, with my education, I can incorporate cattle into our operation. Education has helped me learn about livestock management practices and the overall sustainability of beef production. This scholarship brings me one step closer to achieving that goal.
